Apple Watch Series 8

Adrienne So, editor of WIRED, calls the Series 8 “by far the best fitness tracker if you have an iPhone” in our Best Fitness Trackers guide. In addition to its solid suite of workout views, running metrics, medication logging and tracking, the Series 8 adds new body temperature sensors that track menstrual cycles and collision detection in the event of a crash. car.

We called this fitness tracker the best for triathlons in our guide to the best Garmin watches because of the wide range of features it packs for runners, cyclists and swimmers. There’s a heart rate monitor, altimeter, thermometer, blood oxygen sensor, and workout software that tracks your heat acclimatization and offers predicted exercise end times.

In our testing, the Peak’s step counter is too sensitive to be of much use as an everyday tracker, but its 80+ sport modes for a wide range of outdoor activities can give you an ultra-in-depth insight into your performance. It has built-in GPS to track your runs and only takes an hour to fully charge.

It’s not very comfortable for training activities and the e-ink screen is cluttered, but it’s remarkably accurate for capturing SpO2, sleep and heart rate data. You can connect it to Google Fit. While there are better fitness trackers out there in that they’re specifically designed for workouts, the Jorn is a stylish watch with charm aplenty. Learn more here.

Freedom Wing X

I was a huge fan of the Freedom X (7/10, WIRED Review) when I beat it to the streets of New York for a week. E-bikes all compromise below the $2,000 price tag, but among the competition, Wing is one of the best. With a surprisingly comfortable seat, ergonomic grips, a powerful motor, and a relatively light 39 pounds, it offers so much more than most competing e-bikes. My review was initially critical of the short warranty at the time, but Wing e-bikes now come standard with a one-year warranty.

My review of the Juiced Scrambler is ongoing, but early opinions are good so far. Rather than aiming for the svelte, regular bike-like, lightweight shape of a fender or Propella, Juiced bikes tend to weigh upwards of 60 to 70 pounds. They offer speeds of 28 miles per hour and claim a range of around 40 miles, depending on the model. There is a limited stock of open box inventory, but discounts are enormous about 50% or more. You can read more about our experience with the brand here.

It’s not the biggest discount, but low-end e-bikes rarely sell for much more. Also, we really like the Cafe Cruiser. It has a powerful 750 watt motor, a top speed of 28 miles per hour (electrically assisted) and a respectable range of 30-50 miles. There’s a passenger seat kit you can buy for $125 that lets you carry a friend, as long as they weigh 150 pounds or less.

This is the biggest sale we’ve seen since we reviewed the 7S (8/10, WIRED Recommends) in 2020. Since then, it’s been improved in a few minor ways, but it’s still a big deal. left the same bike we fell in love with. . It’s lightweight (for an e-bike) at 37 pounds, has seven mechanical gears, and reaches a top speed (electrically assisted) of 19 miles per hour. The stated range of 20-40 miles is accurate, in my experience. You’ll have to search hard to spot the elements that make it an e-bike, which might be just what you need if you don’t want to broadcast your ride.

workout clothes

Nike Pro Dry Fit

Working in a cotton t-shirt is a drag. It gets drenched in sweat at the start of your workout and you stay wet until you get home and take it off. I’ve been using Nike Dri-Fit shirts for my gym workouts for years. These shirts are thin enough to keep you cool and their 93% polyester fabric dries quickly during breaks between exercises. The 7% Spandex gives it enough stretch to stay flexible as well.

In addition to my Nike shirts, I’ve been using these Adidas pants as training pants for years. The tapered cuffs and snug fit mean there’s no extra fabric billowing around while I work out, and the 100% polyester fabric dries sweat quickly, yet is durable enough that I don’t have to. haven’t noticed any fraying or holes yet.

Men’s size, Women’s size

When it’s cold outside and I go for a run (which admittedly isn’t often), I need something warmer to wear that won’t restrict my movement. These Uniqlo track pants are incredibly soft and comfortable, with a just-loose fit that won’t hinder your flexibility. I also often use them for Zen meditation and as a warm layer on walks to the gym when it’s cold outside.

Men’s size, Women’s size

It’s hard to find a solid all-purpose training shoe. There are shoes meant for running, whether outdoors or on a treadmill, but there are also shoes meant for weightlifting, which tend to have flatter soles for added stability. These X2s have been superseded by the X3, but I like the stability these CrossFit shoes provide for deadlifts, squats, and overhead presses, coupled with the ability to step onto a stair machine or treadmill and to go there for 45 minutes.

Sale of Keychron mechanical keyboard

Keychron Q3

Photo: Keychron

Keychron, the maker of some of our favorite mechanical keyboards, is hosting a sale to celebrate its sixth year of manufacturing typewriters. The Q3 is a great wired keyboard with a sturdy metal frame that won’t slide around your desk. This one doesn’t include a number pad, but I highly recommend buying the version with the “fully assembled button” so you can change the volume with a satisfying touch. It comes with a color-matched USB-C to USB-C cable (and a USB-A adapter). This deal ends April 7 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

Already have a mechanical keyboard? If you need new switches or just want a new color scheme, Keychron offers discounted PBT switches and keycaps if you want a new typing experience. These offers end on April 7 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
